JON BURGERMAN'S MURAL

Linda was sharing this video on Facebook and I find it really interesting. I really wish I can touch on projects like this in future but I wonder how likely will it be to do this locally? What is the feeling like when hobby and job collide together and someone is paying you to do something you really love? I'm still trying to believe in that story.. http://jonburgerman.com/

BUS STAND SHOWCASE AT ORCHARD YMCA II

I'm finally back to get a better view of "The House in my Dream" showcase and brought my moms to see "Silence" at *scape today! They wanted to take a look at the showcases so we went to see both of them and took a little time to shop around before we got home.

BUS STAND SHOWCASES - SILENCE

Silence will be showcased at three different places and I've decided to drop by all of them despite the amount of distance I have to travel in a day. My boy dropped by my house to get the camera and tripod before setting off to the first location which was at Bukit Timah Road.
P.S.: I missed my bus trip to SP during my poly days and I met Yun Liang on the bus!

We took a bus to SP for lunch and took a train to our next location which was at Woodlands just outside Rupublic Polytechnic. The lighting was really good, the sky blue was pretty but the soaring sun was showering us with heat as well.. We were really tired with the walking and the heat but we still proceed to our next location to get a after sunset picture of the third "Silence" showcase!

Finally, it's the last location which was at Punggol outside Punggol Secondary School and we were totally drained and hungry, but at least we've seen them all. It's a once in a lifetime experience and I'm loving it. =)

NOISE EXHIBITION AT RAFFLES PLACE PARK

I was super excited today cause I am to see my work exhibited on the glass panels of Noise's Raffles Place Park Exhibition! I'm really thankful that my mom, uncle, little cousins, abo, linda and my boy dropped by Raffles Place Park with me today just to get a shot of my works! It was a memorable day despite the waiting outside the exhibition house for the sun to set. Thanks a bunch for everything! =)

VECTOR ILLUSTRATION - GLOOMY BIRTHDAY

This was done for my Adobe Illustrator Class.. I'm trying to adapt to all the new functions and I'm still on the basic level of AI! Anyway, we were to get inspired by one of the vector illustrators we researched on last week and work on a vector illustration and here's what I have, inspired from Ben Zhao's illustrations.. Well.. It's far from it! Haha! This is my second illustration from AI. It's supposed to be inspired by my boy's coming birthday but it looks too gloomy for a birthday graphics! Opps!

BUS STAND SHOWCASE AT ORCHARD YMCA I

My NAFA friends actually intended to drop by *scape together after school but it was called off and I bumped into Shannon and Matt outside the canteen before meeting Linda to go home together.. BUT! We actually decided to drop by YMCA on our way to the train station. =)

The feeling was amazing! I saw the perspective of the trees from a distance and it felt like real at first sight! Everyone was excited and I felt a sense of trill to see my work displayed in the big advertisement panel.. I'm so gonna come back for better photos someday this week, but I'm really greatful that my friends were there with me! Thanks Matt for the photos! (P.S.: Abo joined us after her class!)

NOISE EXHIBITION AT *SCAPE YOUTH PARK

FINALLY! The day has come.
Today was the first day of the exhibition and I was feeling extremely excited about it! My boy was sweet enough to accompany me to my first exhibition and I've got his Canon 5D to do some documentation.

Meeting my old man was strange.. It feels like seeing my character right in front of me and meeting them like they were real.. I felt really lucky to have my work showcased at such scale and I'm really thankful for everyone behind this project especially Noise Singapore! Here's some of the photos from the exhibition!

VECTOR ILLUSTRATION - BIRTHDAY INVITATION

Untitled-4

7 August 2010 / Illustrator + InDesign

My boyfriend will be having his 21st Birthday BBQ Party around the corner, so I suggested a personalised thumbnail for his digital invitation on Facebook, but I was rather busy with my school lately which held up the process. It was an eleventh hour job actually from the planning to the finals. I really hopes that he'll like it although I know he surely do. Can't wait for the next project on his birthday tokens and guestbook! (we're still counting the heads..)

A SCOLECIPHOBIC CHICKEN

Phobia 01

4 August 2010 / Pencil + Acrylic

Scoleciphobic was the phobia of worms, an assignment that I'm working on in school lately. We were to illustrate two illustrations on a particular phobia and I have chosen my worst fear ever since my last encounter with worms..

Arcylic was used for this illustration and it was my first experience using Acrylic on illustration rather than using them for traditional paintings. The story was an ironic one where the chicken, which is suppose to eat worms like any other chicken (the very nature of a bird), is afraid of it's own food. How will it be like if you fear milk when you were a baby? It actually bring out the contrast of the phobia by forcing a crab to walk forward..
